Commercial Concrete Paint Removal in Sydney

Resin Me Epoxy mechanically removes floor paint, acrylic sealers, line marking and compatible coatings from commercial and industrial concrete across Sydney. Typical sites include warehouses, factories, car parks, retail fit-outs, workshops and construction projects.

We assess the coating type, number of layers, bond, contamination and slab hardness before choosing a method. Thin or brittle paint may respond to diamond grinding, while thicker or softer material may need PCD tooling or staged passes. A test area may be used where the coating history is uncertain.

Commercial grinders are connected to H-Class dust extraction and edges are detailed with suitable hand equipment. This controls airborne dust but does not make the process completely dust-free. Suspect older coatings should be tested for hazardous materials before mechanical removal; confirmed hazardous coatings require an agreed specialist scope.

Grinding can expose staining, cracks, old repairs, weak concrete or coating trapped in deep pores. We prepare the floor to the agreed standard, but do not promise a perfectly uniform colour or level slab. The required surface profile should be confirmed against the next flooring system.

For a useful quote, provide the floor area, paint or sealer type if known, number of layers, site photos, access, available power, nearby occupied areas, required completion date and the intended finish or replacement system.

Commercial paint-removal scope

  • Mechanical removal of compatible floor paints and sealers
  • Line-marking and localised coating removal
  • Tooling selected after inspection or a test area
  • PCD and diamond-grinding options
  • Commercial grinders for larger floor areas
  • H-Class dust extraction and detailed edge work
  • Hazardous-material status confirmed where relevant
  • Exposed defects and weak concrete reported
  • Final vacuuming and inspection before handover
  • Preparation matched to the intended next flooring system

Preparation-only paint removal for commercial projects

Builders, flooring contractors and facility managers can request paint removal and grinding as a separate preparation package, with the replacement flooring installed by their nominated contractor. Tell us whether you need an entire warehouse or factory floor prepared, selected work zones treated, or old line marking removed.

The written scope identifies the material to be removed, accessible edges, required surface profile, cleaning and prepared-slab handover. Confirm whether floor-covering removal, repairs, levelling, replacement coatings or off-site waste disposal are also required so their inclusion or exclusion is clear.

Request a commercial paint-removal quote

Start with the site suburb, approximate floor area, photos and required timing. Include your plans or bill of quantities (BOQ), the next flooring specification and known coating details when available. Tell us whether the floor can be cleared and whether racking, machinery or occupied areas will affect access. We will advise whether an inspection or test area is needed.

Request a commercial paint-removal quote, email plans or your BOQ, or call 0490 101 266.

How do you remove paint from a concrete floor?

The method depends on the paint, its bond and thickness, the slab and the intended next finish. For a larger floor, professional mechanical removal may use diamond grinding or PCD tooling for bulk material, followed by refinement grinding and vacuuming. A test area helps establish the method when the coating history is uncertain.

Removing visible paint is not the same as making the slab ready for every new flooring product. Paint in pores, old repairs and stains may remain visible, while the required surface profile depends on what is installed next. Tell us whether you need preparation for a new covering, mechanically polished concrete or grind and seal before the scope is agreed.

Should I use a paint stripper or hire a grinder?

A small DIY patch and a commercial floor require different planning. A chemical stripper can introduce residue that must be assessed against the next system. A hired grinder also needs suitable tooling, extraction and a method matched to the slab. For large areas, multiple coatings, occupied premises or a specified handover standard, ask for a professional assessment rather than choosing a method from the paint colour alone.

Can all paint stains be removed before polishing?

Not necessarily. Pigment can remain in pores or repairs after the coating is removed. Further grinding changes the concrete and aggregate exposure. Discuss a test area and acceptable appearance before committing to a decorative finish.

Send the floor area in m², Sydney suburb, photographs, known coating history, required timing and intended next finish. Include whether the floor can be cleared and any access restrictions. Request a quote and choose “Paint or sealer removal”, or email your photographs and scope.

For documented large-floor preparation capability, see our 1,500 m² Campbelltown warehouse grinding project. The case study records equipment selection, access and the prepared-slab handover.

Concrete sealer removal and preparation for the next surface

Existing concrete sealers may need removal before a new flooring, coating or sports-surfacing system. We assess the sealer, concrete condition, required surface profile, machinery access, available power and programme before confirming the preparation scope.

At Parramatta tennis courts, Resin Me Epoxy removed existing concrete sealer and mechanically prepared 1,350 m² using two grinding machines. Our scope covered sealer removal and concrete preparation for the next surfacing stage. View the Parramatta concrete sealer-removal project.

Send your site suburb, approximate area, photos, known sealer details and the next surfacing specification for a preparation-only assessment. Equipment, price and programme are assessed separately for each project.
