Service Overview
Commercial Carpet Glue and Tile Adhesive Removal in Sydney
Resin Me Epoxy mechanically removes carpet glue, vinyl adhesive, tile adhesive, mastic and timber-flooring residues from concrete for commercial refurbishments, make-good works and new flooring installations across Sydney.
Adhesives vary widely. Soft or heat-sensitive glue can smear and load ordinary diamonds, while brittle residues may fracture more readily. We inspect the bond, thickness, previous floor covering and slab hardness before selecting PCD scrapers, specialised segments or staged diamond grinding.
Tile Adhesive Removal After Tile Uplift
First establish whether the residue is cement-based tile adhesive, a flexible adhesive, levelling compound or another material. After the tiles are lifted, thicker ridges may need bulk removal before controlled grinding. The final profile must suit the next tile, vinyl, coating or concrete finish. Tile uplift, adhesive removal, repairs, levelling and waste disposal should be separately identified in the quotation.
For a commercial tile-adhesive package, send the site suburb, approximate area, residue photos, whether tiles are already lifted and the next flooring specification. Filip reviews the removal, access, power and handover scope directly. Request tile-adhesive removal pricing or view our indicative removal budget guidance.

1,000 m² of carpet-glue removal in Sydney CBD. Our 2,000 m² Sydney CBD tenancy project included approximately 1,000 m² of carpet-glue removal and a separate 1,000 m² scope grinding existing polished concrete. We used PCD tooling for the bulk adhesive, followed by refinement grinding, industrial vacuuming and handover for the incoming fit-out. See how we removed the sticky carpet adhesive.
Commercial grinders are connected to H-Class dust extraction and edges are detailed with suitable hand equipment. This controls airborne dust but does not make the process completely dust-free. Sticky adhesive may generate heat or odour and can require slower passes or tooling changes.
Removal may reveal staining, cracks, levelling compound or adhesive sitting deep in the concrete pores. We work to the agreed preparation standard, but do not promise a perfectly clean, unmarked or level slab. Suitability is judged against the flooring or coating system that follows.
For an accurate quote, provide the floor area, previous floor covering, adhesive type if known, site photos, access and lift limits, available power, occupied-area restrictions and programme. See our Windsor school glue-removal project for a restricted-access example, or our 100 m² private gym preparation project for a smaller adhesive-removal scope.
Scope to confirm in your quotation
- Assessment of adhesive type, thickness and bond
- PCD, specialised or diamond tooling selected for the residue
- Commercial and remote-control grinders where access permits
- H-Class dust extraction and detailed edge preparation
- Carpet, vinyl, tile and timber-flooring adhesive removal
- Access, power, noise and occupied-area controls confirmed
- Test area or staged passes where the adhesive is uncertain
- Exposed cracks and weak substrate reported
- Final vacuuming and inspection before handover
- Quote based on actual condition and the next flooring system
Does adhesive removal include lifting the floor covering?
Tell us whether the carpet, vinyl, tiles or timber will already be lifted. Removal of the floor covering, adhesive removal and any off-site waste disposal need to be identified separately in the quotation, so the preparation-only scope is clear.
Can you remove carpet glue before vinyl, tiles or epoxy?
Yes. We quote preparation-only glue and adhesive removal from commercial concrete floors across Sydney. Your flooring team can install the next system after the agreed slab handover. The quotation identifies bulk adhesive removal, follow-up grinding, accessible edges and cleaning. Send the flooring specification so the required substrate condition can be agreed; repairs, levelling, floor-covering uplift and off-site waste disposal are assessed separately.
Request a commercial glue-removal quote
Send your site suburb, approximate floor area, photos of the adhesive, the next flooring system and required handover date. Tell us about lift access, available power and any occupied or staged areas. Unknown details can be confirmed during scope review.
Request a glue-removal quote or email plans and photos to admin@resinmeepoxy.com.au. See our preparation-only subcontract service for the wider handover scope. For repeat work, coordinated access and mobilisation are considered in project-specific pricing.
How do you remove carpet glue from concrete?
Before grinding older or unidentified flooring residues, confirm their hazardous-material status. Suspected asbestos-containing material needs appropriate assessment and testing before removal.
The suitable method depends on the adhesive and the flooring planned next. On a larger floor, professional removal commonly starts with assessing the residue and slab, removing the bulk adhesive with selected scraping or PCD tooling, then diamond grinding and vacuuming to achieve the agreed substrate condition. Soft glue may smear or clog unsuitable tooling, so a small test area can help establish the sequence.
A small DIY patch is a different job from an open tenancy or warehouse. Do not assume a household solvent or glue remover will leave a surface compatible with new flooring or sealing. Follow the next system’s preparation requirements, and tell your contractor about any chemicals already applied.
Will adhesive removal leave concrete ready to polish or seal?
Removal is the preparation stage. It can reveal staining, patching and defects that were hidden under the covering. If the intended finish is polished concrete or grind and seal, tell us before removal so the grinding sequence, appearance expectations and any test area can be planned together. If another contractor is laying the next floor, send their substrate specification.
When is professional grinding appropriate?
Professional assessment is useful for large floor areas, stubborn or unknown residues, occupied or staged commercial sites, and jobs needing a defined handover standard. Machinery choice also depends on doorways, lifts, slab access and available power. Our Sydney CBD carpet-glue removal case study shows the bulk-removal and refinement stages on a documented commercial project.
What should I send for a glue or tile-adhesive removal quote?
Send the approximate area in m², site suburb, photographs of the residue, timing, whether the carpet or tiles are already lifted, and the intended next finish. Request a contractor quote or email photos to admin@resinmeepoxy.com.au.
