Commercial Epoxy & Coating Removal Sydney
Preparation-only epoxy, paint and failed-coating removal for Sydney warehouses, factories, fit-outs and facilities teams. Coating assessment, selected tooling, dust-controlled extraction and handover for the next flooring system.
Service Overview
Removing epoxy and other coatings from concrete floors
Resin Me Epoxy mechanically removes failed epoxy, polyurethane, paint and other bonded floor coatings from commercial and industrial concrete. We work in warehouses, factories, retail spaces, workshops and construction sites where the slab must be prepared for a specified new flooring system.
The existing coating is inspected for thickness, hardness, adhesion and contamination before tooling is selected. Aggressive PCD tooling may be used for thick or flexible coatings, followed by diamond grinding to refine the surface. Thin or brittle systems may require a different sequence; there is no single tooling setup for every slab.
Preparation-Only Coating Removal and Handover
We assess commercial coating-removal and preparation packages individually, including open warehouse and factory floors. Builders and flooring contractors can engage us for the preparation scope and arrange the replacement flooring separately. Send the existing coating details, approximate area, photos and next flooring specification for assessment. Filip Plesko reviews your scope directly before equipment selection and mobilisation.
At the Parramatta tennis courts, we removed an existing sealer from 1,350 m² of concrete for a builder preparing a court extension. Our scope ended at the prepared slab. If your project involves a sealer or floor paint, see our concrete paint and sealer removal service. For a failed epoxy floor, send Filip photos of the coating with the site suburb, approximate area and the flooring specified to follow.
What condition is the slab handed over in?
The quotation should identify the coating to be removed, required surface profile, accessible edges, cleaning and any separately agreed repairs. Share the new flooring specification before removal starts. Grinding can expose defects or contamination that require further assessment before the next contractor installs their system.
Can work be staged around warehouse operations?
Tell us which areas can be cleared, the available working hours and when each area needs to be handed over. Access, power, dust controls and protection of neighbouring areas are reviewed before the programme is confirmed. Send your coating-removal scope and plans.

Equipment selected for the coating and slab. Our commercial grinding capability includes remote-controlled grinders, three H-Class extractors and independent site-power options. The existing coating, slab condition, access and next flooring specification determine the equipment, tooling and agreed preparation scope. View the grinding fleet, extraction and site-power capability.
Commercial grinders are connected to H-Class dust extraction and edges are detailed with suitable hand equipment. This controls airborne dust but does not make the process completely dust-free. Access, noise restrictions, power availability, nearby trades and the required surface profile are confirmed before work starts.
Removal can reveal cracks, repairs, weak concrete, staining or previous substrate damage. We do not promise that every mark will disappear or that grinding will produce a perfectly level slab. Newly exposed defects are reported so repairs or further preparation can be agreed before the next system is installed.
For an accurate quote, provide the floor area, coating type if known, site photos, access details, available power, programme and the next flooring specification. For broader preparation after removal, see our concrete floor preparation service. If new epoxy installation is also required, see our commercial epoxy flooring service.
What commercial clients can expect
- Tooling selected after a site and coating assessment
- PCD and diamond-grinding options for different systems
- Remote-control and three-phase equipment where access allows
- H-Class dust extraction and detailed edge preparation
- Clear scope for coating removal and final surface profile
- Access, power, noise and programme requirements confirmed
- Suitable for warehouses, factories, retail and construction sites
- Exposed cracks and weak concrete reported, not concealed
- Final vacuuming and inspection before handover
- Quote based on actual floor condition and intended next system
How do you remove epoxy or an old floor coating from concrete?
Confirm the hazardous-material status of older or unidentified coatings before mechanical removal. Suspect materials require appropriate assessment and an agreed specialist scope.
Professional removal begins by assessing the existing system, thickness, bond and slab. Thick or flexible coatings may need PCD tooling for bulk removal, followed by diamond grinding to refine the surface. A thin, brittle coating may respond to a different sequence. A test area can help define tooling, the likely exposed slab condition and the handover scope.
The goal is a substrate suitable for the specified next system. Removing the coating can expose weak concrete, oil contamination, cracks, old repairs or moisture-related problems. These findings may need further assessment before new flooring is installed. Coating removal alone is not a guarantee of adhesion or a decorative finish.
Can old epoxy be removed before polishing or grind and seal?
The slab can be assessed for mechanically polished concrete or grind and seal, but existing coating, staining and repairs can affect appearance. Tell us the intended finish before removal starts so preparation, aggregate exposure and a test area can be considered together. If the slab is being recoated, send the replacement manufacturer’s preparation specification.
What affects coating-removal cost and timing?
Important factors include area, coating thickness and bond, tooling wear, edges, repairs, floor clearance, access, staging, waste handling and the required final surface profile. A large open warehouse and a machinery-filled workshop should not be priced on area alone. The scope should distinguish removal, follow-up grinding, repairs and replacement finishes.
Review our indicative coating-removal pricing for budget guidance. Final pricing depends on the existing floor, removal requirements, tooling, access, edges, waste and programme.
Request an epoxy or coating-removal quote
Send the approximate floor area in m², site suburb, photographs, coating history if known, timing and the next flooring system. Add plans and any shutdown, access or occupied-area restrictions.
Request commercial coating-removal pricing and choose “Epoxy or coating removal”, or email your photos and plans. Our equipment page and documented warehouse grinding project record commercial preparation capability, equipment and the agreed handover.
